COLOR CODING
Several Trim-Tex products have been recolored this year — here’s why!
Notice a few new shades of blue in the Trim-Tex catalog? We’ve done a bit of renovating within
our Fire + Sound Solutions line, introducing a couple of new products and reorganizing others to
live under this popular product category. To make everything easy to identify — for both TrimTex customers and special inspectors — we’ve color-coded the entire code compliance family.
PINK/RED (pgs. 34–36) indicates fire rated products. All
Trim-Tex preformed firestopping solutions (excluding Fire
Tape and Hotrod BW) are equipped with intumescent
tape, which expands when exposed to flame to enhance
fire protection. Each of these products has been tested to
multiple industry standards to comply with joint firestopping
requirements, as well as undergoing sound testing. These
products are extruded in pink or red for easy identification
by inspectors as preformed firestopping devices. Applicable
testing data for these fire-rated drywall accessories can
be found on Trim-Tex.com.

BLUE (pgs. 38–39) indicates products that deliver highperformance smoke and sound ratings. These soundabating solutions are designed for use in non-fire-rated
partitions requiring an STC rating. Some of these products
(093V Expansion, Deflection Bead, Super Seal Tear Away®
L Bead) were previously part of the Made for Movement
product category; they have been extruded with a blue
tint and moved under the Code Compliance family to more
accurately reflect their sound-abating capabilities. STC
testing reports are also available on Trim-Tex.com.
